Vote For Site Event’s Unsung Hero & Supplier Team of the Year at the Festival Supplier Awards 2022
Site Event is thrilled to share some exciting news: we’ve been shortlisted for Best Toilets at the Festival Supplier Awards! Additionally, our Operations Manager, Mick Griffin, has received a nomination for Unsung Hero, and our event team is in the running for Supplier Team of the Year.
Site Event’s Operations Manager Mick Griffin has been shortlisted for Unsung Hero at this years awards.
MMick joined our team in 2021 with no prior events background, and his dedication has truly set him apart. Despite an intense event season, he kept everything running smoothly. Mick ensured units were quickly repaired, prepped, and cleaned between events, managing teams on-site for major festivals like Wickham Festival, Isle of Wight Festival, and Carfest South.
This summer, Mick’s achievements stood out:
- He proactively recruited and trained the event team, developing and motivating them with his passion for delivering seamless event services.
- Wickham Festival posed unique challenges as the muddiest event of the year. The muddy terrain prevented vehicles from accessing the toilets, so Mick meticulously moved each one using a telehandler and tractor. His quick thinking and can-do attitude, along with local support, turned a potential disaster into a manageable situation.
- Mick’s clear communication and scenario planning keep clients reassured and in control. With his calm approach and resourcefulness, he reduces major challenges to minor inconveniences.
- Mick quickly mastered our in-house vacuum toilet systems, ensuring optimal setup and even enhancing their efficiency with technical adjustments to improve the final product for our clients.
Mick brings enthusiasm and a sense of humor to every task, instantly putting clients at ease. His passion for delivering excellent sanitation services drives him to think creatively and provide clients with budget-friendly, efficient waste management solutions.
His strengths extend to building event resilience. With a growing network of suppliers, he adapts to changing conditions—from unpredictable weather to staffing needs. By collaborating closely with event organizers, Mick helps build the event experience, always anticipating what’s needed for a successful outcome.

Site Event’s team has also been shortlisted for Supplier Team of the Year.
At Site Event, we’re proud to have a diverse team—detail-oriented planners, charismatic salespeople, and passionate service attendants, project managers, and drivers who work together seamlessly.
In March 2020, before lockdown, our team showcased their adaptability. With a surge in requests for hand sanitizer stations, we quickly shifted gears. Our build team, originally focused on toilet trailers, pivoted to produce hand sanitizer stations. When we ran out of dispensers and couldn’t order more due to global lockdowns, the team got creative. They repurposed dispensers from our event fleet of toilets, knowing they wouldn’t be in use anytime soon.
Our staff became key workers, delivering these essential hand sanitizer units to NHS Nightingale Hospitals, schools, manufacturing units, and testing sites across the country.
