This towable welfare unit gives your team a practical mess area, worktop space, hard-wired microwave and kettle, warm-water washing facilities, drying hooks and a recirculating chemical toilet. A 6kVA diesel generator powers the unit where mains electricity is not available.

The 10 Operative Mess Area Layout gives the full internal space to the mess area, with seating for up to 10 operatives. This layout works best when your team needs maximum break-time seating and welfare space.

The 8 Operative Mess Area + Site Office Layout provides mess area seating for up to 8 operatives, with a separate office area for up to 2 people. This layout works well for site managers, supervisors and projects that need welfare and workspace in one unit.

Both layouts help contractors provide essential welfare facilities without hiring separate cabins for every function.

Power, Water and Recirculating Chemical Toilet

The unit uses a 6kVA diesel generator with a generator control panel and hour-run meter. The generator powers the welfare unit’s lighting, heating, water system and hard-wired appliances.

The customer supplies and refills the diesel during the hire. The unit includes a 58-litre fuel tank, with access through the secure fuel area.

Fresh and waste water containers provide 20 litres of capacity each. The unit does not require mains water or mains drainage. Site Equip does not supply drinking water, so customers must provide drinking water separately for operatives.

The recirculating chemical toilet includes a 135-litre toilet tank and ventilation pipe. This allows the welfare unit to operate on temporary sites where fixed toilet facilities are not available.

Weekly Chemical Toilet Servicing

Weekly servicing supports the recirculating chemical toilet during the hire period. Our service team removes effluent, recharges chemicals and replenishes toilet consumables during the visit.

High-use sites may require additional servicing. Customers can arrange extra service visits where required, subject to availability and additional charges.

For teams of up to 10 operatives, we recommend reviewing usage levels at the start of the hire. This helps confirm whether weekly servicing is enough or whether the site would benefit from more frequent visits.

Delivery, Setup and Site Requirements

Site Equip delivers the 16ft welfare unit using a towing vehicle. The unit uses a hydraulic lowering system and normally takes around 15–20 minutes to deploy once it arrives on site.

Before delivery, the site must provide:

• Flat, firm ground
• Safe towing vehicle access
• Clear access within approximately 3 metres of the agreed position
• Enough room for delivery, deployment and collection
• Ongoing access for weekly servicing

The unit must not sit on unstable, sloping or waterlogged ground. Customers must not tow or move the unit around site themselves. Please arrange any movement through Site Equip.

You can order online and manage your hire through the free Site Equip Customer Portal. The portal lets you view active hires, access invoices, download proof of delivery, view contracts and request off-hire.

A standard seven-working-day off-hire period applies. Please allow for this when planning the end of your project.
