Site Equip’s Charity of the Year 2020 is Spotlight UK ?

We are pleased to announce that the team here at Site Equip has selected Spotlight UK as our Charity of the Year 2020!

“We believe every individual should have an equal chance in life, no matter their ability, race, religion, family status or financial background. Every child should be given the opportunity to develop their confidence, self-esteem, and social interaction to be able to reach their full potential in life. Everybody should have access to fun activities and emotional support despite financial restraints and believe every child has a potential but may need help to flourish and every child and young person should have people who care, love and support them through life’s challenges and help to improve their mental wellbeing.”

Charity of the Year

After carefully reviewing several incredible charities. The team at Site Equip selected Spotlight UK as our Charity of the Year 2020. Spotlight UK is a local charity providing emotional and practical support to vulnerable children and families across Basingstoke. Hart & Rushmoor, West Berkshire, Portsmouth, Southampton, and Havant—areas where many of our staff live and grew up.

The charity focuses on supporting young carers, children in care, children affected by domestic abuse, and those who have lost a parent or sibling. It also helps children with parents in prison, suffering from mental health issues or substance abuse, and those from low-income families. Spotlight UK offers guidance, support, and a sense of belonging at a critical time in these children’s lives. More than just a charity, Spotlight UK is a community—a safe, loving, and welcoming place for children and families in need.

Spotlight UK

Spotlight UK provides 1-2-1 youth mentoring and offers fun, free, or low-cost activities for children. These activities include drama, dance, singing, youth clubs, arts and crafts, and support groups. Children can build social skills, make friends, and express themselves. They also develop vital life lessons, such as public speaking, confidence, self-esteem, and creativity. The charity also works very closely with social services, offering mentoring and support to children that are taken into care due to personal circumstances, read Jessica’s Story to see how Spotlight UK have helped her and her little brother.

We are excited to partner with Spotlight UK and help raise funds for their incredible work. It will also support youth workers, out-of-school club staff, performing arts teams, and family support services. Spotlight UK’s essential support helps local children and families in need. Site Equip will be supporting the charity throughout 2020 through many means including;
