Site Equip Installs Life-Saving Defibrillator for Local Community Access
Leading welfare and sanitation hire company, Site Equip, has installed a publicly accessible defibrillator (AED) at its Site Build workshop in Lasham, Hampshire. The Defibrillator device is available 24/7 to support both staff and the surrounding community in emergency situations.
Strategically positioned on the front wall of the Site Build workshop, facing the road and adjacent to a busy garden centre, the defibrillator ensures vital access in the event of a cardiac arrest, where every second counts.
An Investment in Community Safety
Each year in the UK, approximately 30,000 people suffer a cardiac arrest outside of a hospital setting. The chances of survival significantly increase when a defibrillator is used within the first few minutes.
“We hope it’s never needed, but we’re proud to make this essential equipment available to help protect lives in our community,” said Adam Lockyer, Director at Site Equip. “Being based in a rural location, we understand the importance of fast action before emergency services arrive.”
Why It’s Important
- Without immediate treatment, fewer than 1 in 10 people survive a cardiac arrest.
- With CPR and defibrillation within 3–5 minutes, survival rates can rise to 70%.
- For every minute without defibrillation, survival chances drop by 10%.

How to Use the Defibrillator
In an emergency:
- Call 999 – the operator will guide you and provide the access code for the cabinet.
- Follow the clear spoken instructions provided by the defibrillator.
- It’s fully automatic and safe – it will only deliver a shock if necessary.
The AED is housed in a bright yellow cabinet on the building’s front wall, clearly signposted and visible from the road. Site Equip asks visitors to avoid parking in front of the unit to ensure quick, unobstructed access at all times.
Committed to Being Prepared
Site Equip is committed to the health and safety of its employees, customers, and the local area, and this defibrillator is just one more way the business is contributing to community well-being.
