Site Equip Donates June Donations To Mermaids

As per our pledge within our Pride month blog, we have decided to donate all customer donations from the month of June to LGBTQ+ charity, Mermaids. We are honoured to make Mermaids Site Equips June donation.

Mermaids is an LGBTQ+ charity supporting transgender, nonbinary and gender-diverse children, young people and their families since 1995. Created by a kitchen table of concerned parents working out how to keep their children safe and happy, Mermaids has now developed into one of the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ charities.

Mermaids assists transgender, nonbinary and gender-diverse children and young people up to the age of 20 but also offers a webchat support system for people up to the age of 25. Their support provides families and young people the tools they need to negotiate education and health services and helps reduce isolation and loneliness for transgender, nonbinary and gender-diverse children, young people and their families. Mermaids also help improve awareness, understanding and practices of teachers, GP’s, CAMHS, Social Services and other professionals.

Mermaids also offer training to help assist and empower professionals through increased knowledge and resources to help create an LGBTQ+ inclusive ethos. Equipping the learner with the most up to date and relevant information enabling them to be confident in supporting the gender diverse community and embracing all LGBTQ+  within their organisation.

 Ensure our sanitisation is gender-neutral

As part of our continued education, we have created our portable toilets, vacuum pods, and many other sanitation offerings to be gender-neutral. Creating gender-neutral sanitation creates a safer space for Pride attendees. We endeavour to continue to educate ourselves and create safer and comfortable spaces for all parts of the LGTBQ+ community.

 Support the LGBTQ+ community financially

In this month of June, we will be donating all of our charity donations to a selected LGBTQ+ charity.

 Continue to supply the LGBTQ+ community

 Educate and Advocate for the LGBTQ+ community

Site Equip promises to continually educate and improve ourselves with LGBTQ+ rights, we also promise to support the LGBTQ+ in every way we are able. At Site Equip we stand for equality and will not support or tolerate any hate act towards the LGBTQ+ community. Pride means acceptance for not only who you want to be, but who you are and the journey it took to get there.
