Site Equip are happy to be supporting the very first National Hire Week which commences today on the 4th February with the purpose of raising awareness of the important role the rental industry plays in the UK economy, and attracting new recruits in to the hire industry! #NationalHireWeek

Hire Association Europe (HAE)

The Hire Association Europe (HAE) and Event Hire Association (EHA) both formed in 1974. HAE focuses on construction, while EHA serves the event hire sector. Hiring from an HAE or EHA member guarantees the highest quality and reliable service. These companies adhere to a strict code of conduct and are committed to staff training and development.

HAE and EHA launched a week dedicated to raising public awareness of the crucial role hire plays in the UK economy. Renting equipment or services offers benefits such as affordability, cost efficiency, quality, convenience, and practicality, which purchasing can’t always match.

National Hire Week

National Hire Week coincides with the Executive Hire Show on 6-7 February at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. The week highlights the importance of hire in the UK economy and the job opportunities arising from challenges like an aging workforce and Brexit-related changes.

HAE introduces a Skills Pledge, offering tailored training and skills development. With apprenticeships, vocational training, and academic programs, HAE aims to strengthen recruitment and retention efforts. They collaborate with partners like CITB, the Department for Work and Pensions, and BuildUK.

Paul Gaze, HAE’s Commercial Manager, stated, “Job satisfaction and continuity are crucial for skill development. The Skills Pledge, signed by many employers, helps reduce turnover, which costs companies in training and disrupts business.”
