Monthly Event Spotlight • Ploughing Matches

Ploughing matches are some of the very first events which Site Event supplied portable toilets almost 30 years ago! Volunteers from the farming community organized the traditional ploughing matches, which became the cornerstone of the events calendar.

The World Ploughing Contest, the most famous event on the ploughing match calendar, follows the British National Ploughing Championships. Each year, the British event takes place in a different part of the country. While the World Ploughing Contest is hosted in a different part of the world annually.

Farmers kindly loan their acres to hold the ploughing matches on their land. To support the matches the event also generally incorporates trade stands, shopping stalls, craft exhibits. Local produce and vintage ploughing machines. All designed to attract farmers, families and those who have a love of the countryside.
