We at Site Event are excited to announce that we have been shortlisted in the Best Toilets/Waste Management category at the Festival Supplier Awards 2019!
The awards evening will take place on Thursday, 31st January, at London’s Hurlingham Club. The event will feature food, drinks, and entertainment to celebrate the achievements of outdoor event and festival suppliers. For us, it’s a great opportunity to reflect on another year of success and growth, while enjoying the celebrations with our hardworking team.
The Festival Supplier Awards, launched in 2014, recognize suppliers of essential outdoor event services. Categories include Best Crowd Management, Best Temporary Structure, Best Visual Spectacular, and Best Glamping & Accommodation, among others. New awards debuting this year include Best Lighting, Best Festival Production/Site Management Team, Best Brand Activation/Campaign, and the Unsung Hero Award. The Unsung Hero Award allows companies to nominate an individual who has shown exceptional dedication.
This year, a renowned judging panel of event industry experts will evaluate the nominees. They understand the challenges suppliers face daily and bring a wealth of experience to the process.
Over the past year, Site Event has supported major events, such as Brighton Pride and Carfest South 2018. Brighton Pride, one of our oldest clients, is the UK’s most notable Pride event. From a one-day event with 10,000 attendees and 100 toilets, it has grown to 45,000 attendees and requires 500 toilets, 300 urinals, and 10 VIP toilet trailers. This year, Britney Spears headlined, helping the event sell out. They also added a family day on Sunday, which meant a tight service window, but our team handled it smoothly.
Carfest South 2018, a prestigious UK motoring event, was another success. We provided 500 single plastic toilets, 20 luxury toilet trailers, urinals, and several VIP showers. We also introduced our new 6-bay luxury vacuum pods, which received great feedback on social media and onsite.
Our 6-bay luxury vacuum pods are eco-friendly and significantly reduce our carbon footprint. These pods use only 0.5L of water per flush, far less than the 5-7L used by conventional toilets. They also allow us to deliver four pods in one load, reducing transportation-related carbon emissions by 75%.. For example, we’ve recently installed a rainwater collection system to wash our toilets before they go out, saving hundreds of thousands of liters of water.
