Celebrate World Water Day 2018

On 22nd March, Site Equip celebrate World Water Day 2018 with the aim to focus attention to the importance of water.

The theme for World Water Day 2018 is ‘Nature for Water’ which explores nature-based solutions to the water challenges we face in the 21st Century. 2.1 billion people live without access to clean, drinkable water which affects their health, education and livelihoods. World Water Day advocates the sustainable management of fresh water sources.

What does ‘Nature for Water’ mean?

Environmental damage and climate change are at the forefront of the issues surrounding the water related crisis. When we neglect our ecosystems, we make it harder to provide everyone with the water we need to survive and thrive. World Water Day 2018 focuses on ways to improve nature and increase the access to clean water. Planting new forests, reconnecting rivers to floodplains, and restoring wetlands will rebalance the water cycle and improve human health and livelihoods.
