What do we specialise in?

Site Waste specialises in the following:

What’s the difference between cesspools, cesspits and septic tanks?

Cesspool

Wet Waste Cesspool

A cesspit is a pit into which all the household waste, including human waste, is piped and accumulates. Unless you are buying an extremely old property, the pit will likely be built from brick and sealed to prevent any leakage.

A Cesspool requires emptying on a very frequent basis around every 45 days or so, depending on use or when it is almost full.

Cesspits and Septic Tanks

Wet Waste Septic Tank

Cesspits and Septic Tanks are the same things, simply different names.

Septic tanks work by allowing waste to separate into three layers: solids, effluent and scum. The scum, composed of waste that’s lighter than water, floats on top. The middle layer of effluent exits the tank and travels through underground perforated pipes into the drainage field.
