Samphire Festival
Samphire Festival is a brand new festival located in the beautiful coastal location within Exmoor National Park. It has recently undergone a crowdfunding effort to pull the funds together from friends, family, & investors who all believe that this could be the start of something big. It will be entertaining the West country with folk, funk, house, techno, ska, reggae & pop across two mains stages with 30 live acts. It is the fastest festival to reach it’s initial target (£20,000) on Crowdfunder 34 days ahead of the campaign closing on 9th of Feb which has now been stretched to £40,000 to really deliver the goods. As you can expect tents, sound systems, generators, toilets, water, fencing, flooring, bins, lights, insurance, talent etc etc can really start to add up.
Samphire will take place from the 8th to the 10th of august July 16, with outstanding sea views, it has really focused on getting back to basics and escaping the digital world. All festivals have had to start somewhere but samphire has burst onto the scene with an almost immediate following via their crowdfunder campaign, if there was ever a new and innovative way to create a festival this would be it.
The founders have heaps of industry knowhow between them, Flora is a music journalist and radio DJ, passionate about music living in London managing a business called Little Black Decks which highlights DJs, Labels, festivals & niche underground music. While Josh is dibbles in everything to do with music, previously playing at Glastonbury and regularly across the Alps he is the music brains behind samphire festival.
