In 2023, Site Equip supported Young Lives vs Cancer and pledged to raise funds and awareness for their Charity of the Year.
Young Lives vs Cancer provide vital support to those under 25, battling with cancer, and their families. Young Lives vs Cancer provide crucial services such as support gaining financial grants, being a listening ear or helping them with paperwork.
Site Equip took part in various fundraising events such as our monthly Friday food fundraising with staff-cooked lunches, bucket collections and dress-up days, such as Jeans Day for Jean’s House.
Our Senior Operations Manager, Mick Griffin, completed the London to Brighton cycle to fundraise and raise awareness for Young Lives vs Cancer, where he was very generously sponsored £1000 by Burbidge’s Bakery.
The Site Equip team raised a total of £5322 for Young Lives vs Cancer.
Liz Blunt, Senior Fundraising Engagement Manager, exclaims ‘A huge thank you to Site Equip for choosing to support Young Lives vs Cancer (CLIC Sargent) in 2023. It was great working with them all. The huge amount they have raised could have paid for registration grants to help 53 families whose child has just been diagnosed with cancer. Our recent research showed that on average a family needs to find an additional £700 a month when their child is going through cancer treatment, so our grants are really needed by many families. Without government funding, we can only provide grants thanks to generous supporters like the staff and Directors from Site Equip. Special thank you to Millie for being the main contact for the charity, Vicki for taking on a bucket collection, Mick for taking on a cycling challenge and the Gilbert family.’
Millie Brar, Marketing Executive, adds ‘It has been a pleasure to partner with Young Lives Vs Cancer over the last year. Initially, we had the goal to raise £4000 so to exceed the goal and raise over £5000 is a massive achievement. I’m proud of the team for getting involved in different fundraising activities to achieve our goal. It’s been a truly rewarding experience knowing we are making a difference to people’s lives and can bond as team.’
