Waste Transfer Notes or Waste Declaration Forms are used by the producer of waste to disclose the type of waste that needs collecting. In this blog, we will aim to explain all the parts of the Waste Declaration Form.
Companies that produce waste must comply with legal standards and regulations related to the waste they generate. This includes categorizing the waste produced. Before Site Waste can collect any waste, the required documents must be completed, as the Waste Declaration Form is part of our pre-acceptance checks. The site must complete the form to enable Site Waste to collect and dispose of the waste legally and safely. Once the form is filled out with as much detail as possible, our Site Waste tanker fleet will promptly collect the waste.
Please note that Site Waste does not accept hazardous waste currently.
Each form will need the waste producer’s details on it. How the waste was generated, the volume and physical state of the waste. Along with this, the form will need the relevant and correct European Waste Code (EWC). Unsure of the correct EWC? You can have a look at the full list of EWC here.
If you are uncertain of what type of waste it is, for an extra charge we can arrive on-site and take a sample. The sample is for the disposal facilities’ acceptance and there will be no analytical data provided from this sample. If you’re unsure, please do give us a call on 01256 384134.
We collect all waste legally and safely, remove it, and dispose of it at the correct facilities. We collect waste according to Site Waste’s duty of care. You can request all waste transfer notes.
The LOW (List of Waste) serves as a common encoding of waste characteristics we see within waste products.
The classification of waste and the assignment of codes for identification significantly impact how we transport and dispose of the waste.
In simple terms, if you are a regular generator of either trade or industrial waste. Which needs disposing of then the Duty of Care legislation makes it a legal requirement for you to identify your waste. Using the LOW and assign the relevant six-figure code on your waste declaration form.
It is incredibly important that a declaration form should also contain a full written description of the waste in addition to the EWC code provided.
