Site Equip celebrates World Water Day 2021. World Water Day is a UN observance day that falls on the 22nd March, every year.
The purpose of the day is to focus and tackle the water crisis around the world, addressing how and why that this is still an issue and highlighting the significance of fresh water and its management as a resource.
World Water Day first began in 1993 and was created by the United Nations. In the modern-day World Water Day is now coordinated by UN-Water in its own special division. World Water Day is promoted through online campaigns, fundraisers, and other mediums, such as social media posts and videos.
The goal is to spread as much awareness as possible and raising the profile of the continuous water crisis across the world.
2021’s theme for World Water Day is what does water mean to you? Understandably in the portable sanitation industry, water is an incredibly important part of our working day today. From our portable showers, IBC hires, and water refills – we use water within almost every activity we do.
Water means different things for everyone and this year’s theme is all about what water means to you. It’s all about discussing how important water is to your home and family life, your livelihood, your cultural practices, wellbeing, and the local environment. By celebrating all the different ways water benefits our lives so we are able to value water properly and safeguard it effectively for everyone.
What is Site Equip doing to help?
We can deliver water refills to sites across the South of England to increase welfare facilities, enabling all workers to have access to clean water to increase sanitation and decreasing contamination. We can supply up to 400 gallons in one load of water.
Our vacuum toilet pods are designed to recycle water from our shower trailers when at large events. The greywater waste from a shower trailer can be pumped into the vacuum toilet pods. The 3 bay and 6 bay toilet pods have also been designed to reduce water consumption, by only requiring 0.5L per flush of water compared to 6-9L in a conventional toilet.
