Get to know the Team; Chris Roper ????

Welcome to the next member in our series of getting to know the Site Equip team! Today we meet our Transport Manager, Chris Roper.

Which part of Site Equip do you work for?

In my role, I work as the Transport Manager across all of the divisions in the company.

Please explain what you do in a few sentences!

My role as the Transport Manager is to look after the companies O licence’s by ensuring we always remain legally compliant with our fleet and drivers.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?

My favourite part of being a Transport Manager is every day is different! There are always new challenges to overcome.

What’s your favourite moment in your job?

My favourite moment was spending a couple days in the life of a driver and experiencing what they do on a daily basis.

What’s your biggest achievement within Site Equip?

My biggest achievement so far is improving our overall fleet compliance and driver knowledge of what is required on a daily basis as a professional driver.

What piece of advice would you give to yourself at the beginning of your career?

I would say not everyone knows what transport compliance is about, so take your time to share your knowledge.

What do you do to unwind?

I like to do some fishing and road cycling to unwind.

What’s your party trick?

I can stick my legs behind my neck!

I am going to Ireland next May.
