At Site Equip, we’re excited to announce our Charity of the Year for 2025: GAIN (Guillain-Barré & Associated Inflammatory Neuropathies). This organisation is one that holds deep personal significance for us, as our director Amy Gilbert, as battled with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) last year. The experience with GBS made us acutely aware of the challenges that individuals and their families face when dealing with this rare and often devastating condition.
What is Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS)?
GBS is a rare but serious disorder where the immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system, leading to muscle weakness and, in some cases, paralysis. The road to recovery can be long and difficult, and the impact it has on the lives of those affected is profound. I experienced this firsthand, and it is this personal connection that drives my commitment to supporting GAIN.
Why GAIN?
GAIN is an incredible organisation that works tirelessly to raise awareness about GBS and other related inflammatory neuropathies. Their efforts provide vital support for families, raise funds for important research, and improve the lives of people living with these conditions. It is through their work that many individuals and their families find the resources and assistance they need during some of the most challenging times in their lives. This year, we are dedicated to raising funds, spreading awareness, and contributing to GAIN’s important mission. We’ll be organising a variety of fundraising events, and we invite you to get involved in any way you can. Whether you have fundraising ideas or want to help organise events, your support will make a real difference.
Join Us in Supporting GAIN As we move forward with this partnership. We are eager to see the impact we can make together. We’ll be rolling out various activities throughout the year, and we’d love for you to be a part of it. Whether you contribute your time, resources, or expertise, every effort counts. Together, we can help those living with Guillain-Barré Syndrome and similar conditions.
