‘You can experience a download but you cannot download an experience’ this was said to me this weekend at an event. So what does this mean for for us in the event loo business?
Well, to be fair I don’t think the person saying it was relating it directly to the toilet business, but it made me think. You can’t download an event experience. After a weekend of fabulous weather that everyone needs and wants for there outdoor event to be a success what other attributes are also needed? After working with many event organisers over many years it seems you simply cannot beat experience, persistence, perseverance and teamwork. Getting these attributes to filter down into the ground floor level and you have the making of a smooth running successful event.
So back to loo hire, it’s so much more than getting the right kit it’s the service behind it. The team that have the experience to deal with the small child that’s left her stuffed bunny behind, or the teenager who’s prized iPhone needs to be retrieved at the bottom of a toilet, sadly giving the news that even when dried it unlikely to work again.
Maintaining standards because experience tells them they want to be back next year, part of the team and experiencing the delights of this event. This isn’t gap year, these people have built relationships with the whole event team and its greeting old friends on a yearly pilgrimage. That’s downloading an event experience.
