For International Women’s Day 2017, we’re asking you to #BeBoldForChange by supporting women in construction.
International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. At Site Equip, we are using the day as a chance to promote and support women in construction. A minority in the huge industry and to encourage young female talent to choose a career within the vibrant, supportive and developing construction industry.
International Women’s Day is a day of global celebration. No one government, NGO, charity, corporation, academic institution, women’s network or media hub is solely responsible for International Women’s Day. Thus International Women’s Day is all about unity, celebration, reflection, advocacy and action – whatever that looks like globally at a local level. But one thing is for sure, International Women’s Day has been occurring for well over a century – and continue’s to grow from strength to strength, similarly that of the construction industry.
At Site Equip, we actively encourage gender equality within roles and will be contributing to Women to making up a quarter of the UK construction workforce by 2020. With our indoor construction team being 100% female, we will continue to recruit the best fit for the role regardless of gender, and encourage our customers and supplier to do the same.
