In most cases, construction happens in public places, so pedestrians need to be kept alert and aware of working construction sites to ensure their safety. Site Equip can offer a couple types of temporary fencing which can help protect pedestrians against the dangers of a working construction site.
Construction is happening everywhere, it is how we effectively develop our infrastructure, accommodate societal demands and so on. In order to do so, construction sites often have heavy machinery operating, sharp tools in use and scraps of metal and bricks and general debris scattered around. While workmen are prepared for these situations with hi-vis jackets, goggles, steel toe cap boots and helmets, it is not safe for pedestrians.
Working construction sites can be extremely dangerous, so it is vitally important to protect passerby’s from accidentally wandering onto site and potentially injuring themselves. There are a couple types of temporary fencing that can help against this.
Heras Fencing
Measuring at 3.5m x 2m per panel, the Heras fencing is the most effective in keeping pedestrians away from straying onto a working construction site. They can be placed around specific dangerous areas of your site, or around the entire perimeter, ensuring maximum protection. We can even supply pedestrian gates and vehicle gates that attach to the Heras fence panels to allow authorised access in and out of your site.
Avalon Barriers
Our avalon barriers are great at visually indicating areas that are unsafe, with its striking neon orange exterior and reflective stickers. These 2m x 1m barriers are eye-catching and effective, and can be placed individually or attached together to barricade off a potentially dangerous area or to create a makeshift walkway. To prevent unauthorised dismantling it is also possible to be placed on locked or unlocked configuration modes.
To summerise, pedestrian safety is paramount, so it is the responsibility of the site manager to make sure passersby do not accidentally get injured on their construction site. Our Heras fencing is best for securing a whole site against pedestrians, whereas the avalon barriers are best for alerting and guiding pedestrians, particularly when a public walkway is partially blocked.
