- It is recommended that the portable chemical toilet contains hot water hand washing facilities with a sink capable of washing up to your elbow. However it may not be ‘reasonable’ possible to provide such facilities, in which case a cold water chemical toilet can be substituted.

- Cold Water Portable Chemical Toilet (The most common toilet on a construction site)
- Main Connected Single Toilet (Also recommended by HSE, this toilet would need to be plumbed into the mains and contains a sink suitable to wash up to your elbow)
